Agony for Wilmslow High School's Rugby Team
The Bott & Co sponsored Wilmslow High School rugby first XV made it to the quarter finals of this year's Daily Mail cup, a national tournament with the final at Twickenham – this is the highest level of rugby in the country for this age group.
In their quarter final home game last week, and cheered on by Gary, Paul and David, they were one kick away from making it through to the semi finals when their usually reliable kicker managed to drift a penalty 6 inches wide of the posts with what was the very last kick of the game.
As favourites we expected them to run out winners but it was a tight game that ebbed and flowed as you could sense the tension in the players, and in the dozens of supporters on both sides that braved the arctic weather conditions to get behind their team.
The lads signed a replica Bott & Co sponsored first team jersey that we will frame to hang alongside our other sporting memorabilia in the Wilmslow office.
