East 17 band members Robbie Craig, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell instructed Bott and Co to help them recover compensation after their flight was cancelled from Aberdeen a few hours before they were meant to depart.
“We had just finished a show in Aberdeen and we were scheduled to fly at 8:25am the following morning. When we arrived back at the hotel, I received an email at 3.15am to tell me the flight was cancelled.”
“We panicked because we needed to get back to London for rehearsals so we decided to go straight to the airport to see if we could catch another flight.”
British Airways didn’t want to help us whatsoever.
“British Airways told us to find another airline as they had no other flights going out that day back to London. They didn’t help us at all. They said the cancellation was down to bad weather, but the weather was fine!”
Robbie had overheard one of the British Airways check-in staff saying that the flight was very quiet and thought they cancelled it because there weren’t enough people on the flight.
“They didn’t give us any food vouchers and we were stuck in the airport until 11am. They just didn’t care.”
Finding Another Airline Proved Difficult
“Because British Airways had no other flights back to London, we had to find another airline ourselves. However, we found that our only option was to fly to Manchester as we needed to get back to our show in time that evening.”
