Bott and Co continued a remarkable run of form by adding a double award win to a number of accolades received since their innovative delayed flight compensation service was established in February 2013.
Assisting more than 13,000 air passengers in their first 12 months to recover over £1.2 million in compensation under European Regulation EC261/2004, Bott and Co are being recognised in their fight on behalf of air passenger rights.
The Manchester Law Society Awards held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on 6th March saw Bott and Co pick up the Small Law Firm of the Year award and the pioneer of delayed flight compensation in the UK, Coby Benson, won Associate of the Year.
With delays and cancellations featuring ever more prominently in the news, more people are becoming aware of their right to receive compensation of up to €600 (£510) under European legislation.
Bott and Co established the first delayed flight compensation legal service, providing a no-win no-fee offering to passengers who had been ignored or refused compensation by the airlines following long delays and cancelled flights.
The law firm, who also specialise in personal injury, are handling the two lead cases on delayed flight compensation at the Court of Appeal in May 2014 in a bid to further clarify air passenger rights. The value of the two cases are predicted to surpass £3.5bn in compensation for around 10 million passengers.
Associate of the Year, Coby Benson, said on winning his award: “It’s been an incredible 12 months for the firm and for me. We’re fighting for the rights of individual passengers against multinational airlines and breaking new legal ground in the process. Winning these awards is a huge compliment to the team who are all responsible for the achievements this year.”
